Mission & Service

The Mission of First United Methodist Church of Bentonville is to "Welcome All, Share Christ and Grow Disciples."  Our commitment to mission and outreach is expressed in a myriad of ministries.  Our commitment is based on a covenant of service we believe is part of the Great Commandment as Jesus spoke that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind and love our neighbor as we love ourselves.

At First UMC, our covenant of mission is demonstrated through the sacrificial giving of our people, be it time, talent or resources.  Whether we are outfitting children with new shoes for school, helping build homes for our neighbors, filling bags of groceries through our Second Street Pantry or donating to support global mission initiatives, we are committed to making the light of Christ known to the world.

There are multiple opportunities for servant ministers to be involved in hands on service projects such as Habitat for Humanity, clothing giveaways or working with individuals who need utility and gas assistance.  Ultimately, there are as many ways to serve Christ through the life of our congregation as their are willing Christ-followers ready to step-up and do what the Lord needs by the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
