Second Street Pantry

Second Street Pantry was established in January, 2011 as a community outreach program by members of First United Methodist Church of Bentonville. Our hope is that when people from our community come to our church, that we will always be able to help. We want those who enter our doors to be fed, to be warmed, and to know the love of Christ. Bentonville area residents are welcome to come for assistance. Certain restrictions apply, but we pray that all who enter leave with a sense of hope and love.
Pantry hours are Tuesdays from 5:00PM to 6:00PM and Wednesdays from 9:00AM to 12:00PM.
What is your role?
There are three ways to participate: donating items, donating money, and donating time.
Donating items: Our Pantry accepts donations of non-perishable food items and personal care items in a designated area outside the church office. Call or e-mail to arrange for donations of perishable food items.
Donating money: Simply make your check out to Second Street Pantry or First United Methodist Church and designate Pantry in the memo. Donations are accepted through collections during church services and in the church office during regular hours.
Donating time: The pantry is completely managed by volunteers. We welcome people of all ages to work in this ministry. Roles available are Pantry Work, Interviewer, Greeter, and Shopper. We also need volunteers to assess needs that are "above and beyond" the normal capabilities of the Second Street Pantry, whether it is meeting a one-time urgent need from a local family or helping a program at an area school.
