Beliefs and Values

Our VISION is to become

" A CHURCH ALIVE, CENTERED IN CHRIST, EXTENDING GOD'S LOVE"

by fullfilling our MISSION to

  • "WELCOME ALL,
  • SHARE CHRIST,
  • GROW DISCIPLES."

Our Core Beliefs:

  • There is one God known in three ways:  (a concept called Trinity)
    • Creator (Father)
    • Redeemer (Son)
    • Sustainer (Holy Spirit)
  • God is the creator of all life.
  • God created all races of people as equals.
  • God created male and female as equals.
  • We are created to be in a loving relationship with God.
  • Sin (of individuals and societies) stands between us and God.
  • God offered Himself to us in Christ.
  • Christ offered Himself to us on the cross for our salvation.
  • Baptism is God's sacrament of cleansing and claiming grace.
  • Communion is God's sacrament of forgiving and self-giving grace.
  • Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!
  • We must share the saving grace of Jesus Christ with as many as we can.
  • We must treat persons of all faiths, and of no faith, with dignity, love, and the right to believe differently from us.

Our Core Values:

  • Worship (to praise God)
  • Prayer (to communicate with God)
  • Repentance (to turn back toward God)
  • Forgiveness (to receive God's Grace for ourselves and learn to forgive others)
  • Baptism (to be cleansed and claimed and named by God)
  • Communion (to be forgiven and renewed by partaking of the presence of Christ)
  • Bible Study (to feast on God's living word as expressed in the ancient texts of scripture)
  • Stewardship (to practice the belief that who we are and what we have comes from and belongs to God)
  • Tradition (to value the past as a springboard for the future)
  • Relationships (equipping, uplifting, and holding one another accountable to our mission and purpose)
  • Reaching the Unchurched (removing unnecessary barriers between the church and the world that God is "dying to reach")
  • Helping the unfortunate (caring for the least, the last, and the lost)
  • Family (building strong relationships within the home)
