Rev. Dr. Michelle Morris
Numbers 14:26-35; Matthew 4:1-11
Something happens to drive us from the garden. Perhaps it is because we have encountered something in life that a simple, comfortable faith can’t address. We are wandering in the wilderness now. And remember – wilderness and desert are the same words in Hebrew. What does our desert season look like but one where our faith is being tried in the refiner’s fire?

Community Events

Beer & Hymns | Bentonville | October 12 | 5-7PM
This October, the spotlight turns inward: for the first time, Beer & Hymns is raising funds to sustain and grow our own work in the community. Since 2017, we’ve hosted hundreds of joy-fueled sing-alongs and raised over $500,000 for local nonprofits across Northwest Arkansas.
Now, to keep the music going, support our musicians and staff, and expand Beer & Hymns into new communities, we’re asking for your help. Every dollar raised this month will support the Beer & Hymns mission:
- Creating joy-filled spaces that strengthen community connection
- Paying local musicians a fair wage
- Providing turnkey fundraisers for small nonprofits
- Amplifying grassroots causes rooted in justice, equity, and compassion
And because it’s October, the soundtrack will be brassy, bold, and booming: horns of every variety!
Beer & Hymns brings people together to raise our glasses, raise our voices, and raise funds for organizations that change the world. All are welcome!

Pastor/Staff Appreciation Month
This year the Staff Parish Relations Committee is expanding October, which is Pastor Appreciation Month, to include all of our incredible staff. We encourage you to encourage them by sharing cards, thanks, and small gifts of appreciation with any of our staff. Have a staff member you would like to bless, but not sure what they would like? There is a list of staff likes and loves located outside the office to help with some ideas. Let's support all our amazing staff who all work together to create this faithful place of worship!
