Rev. Dr. Michelle Morris
Colossians 1:9-14
Who owns Christmas? Or who tries to control Christmas? Or who tries to profit from Christmas? It has been a question since Christ was born. This week’s movie is Scrooged, and we will look at the ways people in power have tried to control Christmas as we look at Scrooge and King Herod.

Pastor Michelle's Bible Study Paused - Catch Up With Us!
Pastor Michelle's Wednesday Night Bible Study is paused until February 4. We have been making our way through The Chosen, an independently produced series focusing on the disciples and what it must have actually been like to follow Jesus, with all the joy, excitement, struggle and heartache. Pastor Michelle thinks it is one of the best representations of the Gospels ever put to film. Best of all, it is free to watch! You can find it at this link: https://www.thechosen.tv/en-us. We have watched through Season 3, Episode 6. Spend some time over the next couple months and watch it, then join us Wednesday nights 5:30-7p when we resume in February!
Dreaming Prayer
During the State of the Church address on November 16, Pastor Michelle encouraged all of us to pray this prayer as we dream about possibilities for our church and our land for the next few months. Also, if you want to pray with a group who will focus on this prayer and pray for our community at large, contact Johnna Kosnoff (
) about joining the Missional Prayer Team.
God of wonders and miracles,
Let me dream your dreams
And let me see your visions
So that I might do my part
To stop the nightmares of many.
Let my mind and my heart be open
So that I might know what doors
You want me to open
For the neighbors you call me to love.
Talk to you later/Amen
