4C: Connection
Rev. Dr. T. Ray Wheeler
Genesis 2:18-25; John 15:1-13
It is not good for humans to be alone. It is central to the human condition to be in relationship with God and with each other. We will affirm that we need connection like we need the air we breathe. Without it, we literally die on the vine.

Leadership Meeting Saturday, January 31
Everyone who will be serving this year on Church Council, Staff Parish Relations, Finance, Trustees, and Lay Leadership committees needs to plan to attend our Leadership Kickoff meeting on Saturday, January 31 from 9 a.m. to noon in Hines Hall. We will talk through long term visioning, learn about each other's committees, and have each committees' January meeting as we share lunch together.
We Are Graces Mission Trip Partnership
We hope you'll join us on the mission trip to Guatemala, May 23-30! At our information meeting, Karen (from Central UMC) shared, "One of the things I love the most about these trips is the time spent with the children at Escuela Integrada (school) and their families. The relationships that develop have really shaped and changed the way I view mission and community." You can learn more about the work of GRACES by clicking here. A quick reminder that the $250 deposit is due in February. We will share the registration link as soon as it is fully up and running so be in touch with us. If you'd like to receive the notes from our informational meeting, links to more videos or, if you have any questions, please contact Kevin Brown (501.230.2837), Wanda Brown (501.278.0745),  or Johnna Kosnoff ( )
February 1–6 at Sager Brown UMCOR Depot
Some of our team have already departed. Others will be leaving Sunday morning for Baldwin, Louisiana, where we will all pack disaster relief kits at the United Methodist Committee On Relief Depot and/or assist with construction projects and support local nonprofits in the community. Each participant is asked to contribute $50 toward the supplies for the kits. If you want to make a tax-deductible contribution toward this cost, you may do so by check or cash (designated UMCOR Relief at Sager Brown) or via our church website by choosing "Special Offering" with UMCOR Sager Brown noted. Please give this week. We are grateful to partner with First UMC Rogers and others from the Great Plains Conference in this holy work. Please keep this mission trip in your prayers as we share Christ’s love through service.
