Wilderness Survival Guide: Silence
Rev. Dr. Michelle Morris
Psalm 46:1-11 (NRSVUE)
This Psalm talks about the rage of the world, of kingdoms tearing each other apart. Yet within that we find refuge in God, and particularly in the silence, in the stillness, in the opposition to the madness. A good reminder as we head into the madness of Holy Week.

Community Events

Good Friday Service
Join us for a thoughtful modern expression of the beautiful tragedy of Good Friday as the Gathering Band leads us through worship in the Sanctuary on Friday, April 3 at 7 pm.

Maundy Thursday Service and Chili Supper
Join us for a chili supper in Hines Hall at 5:00 pm on Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026. Members of the Chancel Choir will prepare and host this community meal. Donations will be welcomed in support of the FUMC Scholarship Fund. Come enjoy a time of food, fellowship, and connection.

Following the meal, we invite you to move into the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm for a traditional Maundy Thursday worship service. This meaningful commemoration of the last meal Jesus Christ shared with his disciples will include beautiful music offered by the Chancel Choir, congregational singing, and the celebration of Holy Communion.

We hope you will join us for this special evening as we journey together through Holy Week.

One more volunteer needed for the Run Bentonville
The city still has need for volunteers on Saturday, April 4 for the Run Bentonville Half Marathon & 5K. Most of the Course Marshall positions are finished by 10am, at the latest. The city's most recent email reduced the requirement to be eligible for a $250 incentive bonus; it's now 10 volunteers. For the $500 bonus, we need 20 volunteers. Currently, we have 9 volunteers so we need just one more to receive $250. (Is it you?) Contact Johnna Kosnoff if you have any questions. Be sure to include our church name when you volunteer so that we get credit. You may sign up by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support for our city.
